Educational Housing Services

Beyond their expert 24-Hour security, Educational Housing Services residences feature 24-7 coverage by its trained Student Life Staff. There is always someone on-duty to assist residents with any need that arises. You will become especially familiar with your Resident Advisor and your Residence Director. Whether you need assistance with getting to know the local neighborhoods, need transportation tips, or even some flu prevention tips; the RA's and RD's at EHS are knowledgable and experienced. 

Each Educational Housing Services resident is assigned a carefully selected live-in Resident Advisor or "RA" in their student housing in New York.  The RA will greet you when you check in and be the last staff member you see upon checkout. RAs are trained to handle the most delicate situations and are ready to help whenever you are in need. RAs hold "office hours" in each residence and there is always an RA on-duty at night. In addition, residents can reach an RA 24 hours per day in the event of an emergency. RAs also organize in-residence recreational activities and events.

The Residence Director, or "RD," is the live-in staff member who supervises the RAs in each residence. RDs plan special outings and help design and manage the EHS Student Life Program. As recent college graduates, RDs mentor RAs and assist them whenever necessary. Most importantly, RDs are available to assist residents with any personal or housing concerns. RDs have extensive posted office hours and participate in EHS's 24-hour on-call rotation with other trained staff members.
