My Life In Quick ReviewTue, 06/26/2007 - 05:00 Whitney - edited by A.M.On Thursday my friend Meagan M came to visit with her friend Rachel and Lauren T joined the three of us to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge and visit the International Center for Photography. I was swept away by several of the photos, but my favorite exhibit was the one that was downstairs on Amelia Earhart. Next in the evening's festivities, we saw the ballet Jewels performed by the New York City Ballet. When I say we "saw" Jewels I actually mean, by the grace of God and the kindness of helpful strangers on the subway we made it to our perfect theater seats moments before the lights flashed to signal the beginning of the show. Afterwards we headed back to EHS, and then walked along the promenade. The next day we grabbed food at the Plymouth Cafe (my new favorite next-door eatery) then it was time for Rachel to head to the Port Authority Bus Station and then back to Skidmore. So we maneuvered our way through the subway system and across Times Square to see her off; and then Antonia, Meg and I did some recreational shopping at Victoria's Secret (semi annual sale) and Bitten (Sarah Jessica Parker - aka Carrie on Sex and the City - 's new clothing line where everything is under $20). Saturday was spent lounging around Brooklyn and then heading over up to the American Museum of Natural History. I went with Lauren and Alison and although we got in, we didn't actually make it to the Mythical Creatures exhibit I'd wanted to see. Afterwards I met up with Meg in Central Park, we went back downtown for dinner at this excellent pasta place and eventually ended up back at her hotel. The next day we ended up meeting up with some British boys we'd met that weekend, at a diner. The next day we went to the Strand and then met the British boys for lunch in Union Square and walked back down to Fiddlesticks for lunch. I accompanied Meg back to Times Square and then went home for a quick nap before my dinner plans with Lauren and the British boys. Monday night Alison, Lauren and I met my friend PJ for dinner. He came down with his friends Bridgette and Danni who I absolutely love! We ate at Monty's and then walked (you guessed it) down the promenade and across the bridge. I went home and Lauren and Alison were playing pool, and Chris had come was there! So I spent a half hour showing him around Facebook and then Lauren, Ali and I went up to my room for a seven-hour sing-along. Bed at 3 am was a welcome change of pace. Tomorrow there's the trip to Magnolia Bakery and birthday shopping for my little sister Rhyan. Thursday should be Zac's show (if we can get tickets) and Friday afternoon Lauren and I head back to Mass for the only trip home I plan to take while I'm living here. And huuuuge sigh, that has been my life since last Wednesday, feel caught up?? |
