Remembering 9/11
It Changed NY
It’s been 10 years since the day that changed history for many in New York City and throughout the world, the events of 9-11 have had an impact on all of our lives and we will never forget.
Each year we remember those lost in the attacks and honor those that risked/lost their lives trying to save others. This year marks the 10th Anniversary of 9-11 where we not only remember the lost lives and the damage that was done, but the strength, perseverance and efforts that have been made to recover and rebuild our city and nation.
Join EHS on Sunday, September 11th, 2011 as we remember 9-11 and all those that we’ve lost and all that we’ve regained since then. Enjoy breakfast on us while we watch the live broadcast services on TV, the services start at 8:45am but if you are earlier you can see the entire coverage. During this day we encourage you to share your experience via our social media platforms Facebook and Twitter.
If you are looking for additional 9-11 events, you may also take part in the Floating Lantern Ceremony occurring between the hours of 6pm-9pm on Sunday, September 11th, on the South side of Pier 40 on the Hudson River. You can write a special message that will be placed on a special lantern. All lanterns will then be released onto the Hudson River. There will be meditation and music to accompany this event. Also remembered will be victims of the Japan Tsunami and Earthquake. As this is a special event to all, we encourage you to remember this event in your own special way.
If you prefer to be at one of the NYC events, you can pass by the Student Life office within your building for more information.
Brooklyn Bridge park is awesome and it’s a 5 minute walk away.
