If you are studying abroad in NYC, living in a dorm, or coming to New York as an exchange student, I would highly recommend EHS Hudson Yards!

I first heard about EHS through a friend and chose Hudson Yards because of the private rooms, central Manhattan location, and modern, clean-looking common areas.

Before moving in, I was a little worried about the shared bathrooms and showers, especially because there weren’t many detailed reviews about Hudson Yards online. I was honestly unsure about signing the lease, but after actually living here, I’m really happy with my choice!

I wanted to leave a detailed review for anyone considering Hudson Yards :)

1. Extremely clean and well-equipped common areas

The facilities are even cleaner in person than they look in the photos.

I really value cleanliness, and the shared kitchen, lounge/study areas, showers, bathrooms, and trash areas are all very clean. The shower glass is always sparkling, and the trash is emptied frequently.

The shared kitchen is especially well-equipped. There are toasters, a mini oven, a four-burner electric cooktop, sinks, and microwaves. They also provide dish soap, sponges, paper towels, and even wet wipes.

Honestly, having clean sponges, dish soap, paper towels AND wet wipes available is such an amazing little perk 😂 I didn’t expect all of these things to be provided, but they are incredibly useful.

The kitchen is on B1, separate from the residential floors, so cooking smells don’t travel upstairs. It’s also spacious and comfortable even when several people are cooking. There is a beautiful garden right outside, and the gym is conveniently located nearby.

There are also snack and drink vending machines, which are really convenient.

Overall, one of my favorite things about Hudson Yards is how clean and well-maintained everything is.

2. Better room condition than expected

My room was incredibly clean when I moved in. I expected some dust or minor stains on the bedding, sink, refrigerator, or storage areas, but everything was spotless. It honestly looked almost brand new.

The room was also more spacious than I expected from the photos. It comes with a bed, multiple storage units, a desk with drawers, AC, heating, a sink, refrigerator, a mirrored storage cabinet, and a closet with shelves and a hanging rod.

I was already happy simply having a private room, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much useful storage space there was.

Considering that it’s a private room in the heart of Manhattan, I’m personally very satisfied with the value.

The only downside I’ve noticed is that rooms facing the inside of the building can hear construction noise during weekday mornings, while the street-facing rooms seem to be fine. Hopefully the construction will be finished soon TT

If you can choose your room, I would recommend choosing your location carefully!

3. Very friendly and helpful RAs

The RAs were incredibly friendly from the very first day.

They helped me move my luggage through the back entrance, and there are huge plastic carts available, which made moving much easier.

There is also a Donation Pantry on B1 with items left by previous residents. There are actually quite a few useful things, so I recommend checking it out!

If you accidentally leave your key card in your room, you can also get a temporary key from the front desk. The staff have always been very kind and helpful.

4. More private than expected

Since this is a residence with shared facilities, I expected the common areas to be crowded, but surprisingly, they are not.

I’ve rarely seen more than four people at once in the kitchen, gym, or first-floor lounge. Even when more people are coming and going through the lobby in the evening, it’s not particularly noisy.

I also really like that I barely hear noise from neighboring rooms. Since everyone has a private room, people seem to be generally quiet and respectful.

If you’re looking for a private room + a central Manhattan location + clean facilities + plenty of storage, I would genuinely recommend Hudson Yards!

This is my third school year living here and it’s been nothing but amazing! The staff are friendly and helpful, the spaces are clean and well kept by a lovely cleaning team and I always feel safe with the security staff. Would highly recommend.

Hudson yards has exceeded my expectations! There are multiple common areas for students. Quiet rooms, lounges, and the kitchen which can be used at anytime. This is a great place for students who are looking for a building that feels safe and spacious. The staff is friendly and the common areas are clean!

I had a great experience at EHS Housing in Hudson Yards. The location is amazing, with easy access to transportation, restaurants, shopping, and everything you need in NYC. The building itself is clean, comfortable, and felt very convenient for student living.

The staff is super helpful and responsive whenever I had questions or needed assistance/ maintenance. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience.

The move-in experience here is amazing!! I’ve spent the last 2 semesters in EHS housing and will be joining again for my third. Compared to moving into my schools dorms, EHS has everything organized to a T. There weren’t many students

moving in at once, so there was no chaos or waiting for bins. The blue bins make it so easy to move things up and down, especially moving through a side entrance, I only had to make 3 trips! The staff is extremely helpful and quick when it comes to any maintenance requests or questions. Definitely recommend this space!
