JOB OVERVIEW

EHS Brand Ambassadors (“BA”) are fall 2017 residents who represent and promote Educational Housing Services (“EHS”) in a positive manner in their social media networks as well as in person within the EHS community. Brand Ambassadors work directly with the marketing department to promote social media and brand awareness initiatives in platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat as directed, and engage EHS residents in different marketing campaigns. They provide credible, trustworthy promotion and visibility to EHS (online and off-line).

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

- Work closely with the Student Experience Marketing Manager and the Student Life department to execute marketing campaigns in the residences as directed.

- Assist with marketing initiatives to include but not be limited to: hanging and removing flyers and displays of social media initiatives, ensuring that brand advertising material is placed in a strategic manner, and removing old flyers when initiatives are over throughout the residences.

- Assist in social media initiatives as instructed, including but not limited to: discovering interesting places around EHS residences for #WhereToWednesday posts, taking over one of the EHS social media platforms for one weekend per semester, etc.

- Share marketing initiatives (such as sweepstakes, promotions, etc.), and organically post ‘EHS positive’ and engaging photos/videos tagging EHS and using branded hashtags on their own personal social media accounts (frequency determined by marketing).

- Attend designated events planned by the Student Life department throughout the semester, at which the BA will encourage attendees to be involved in marketing initiatives, including but not limited to posting photos and videos using the designed EHS hashtags, and executing any giveaways as instructed by the marketing department.

- Capture student experiences and testimonials by video with the direction of the Marketing Department.

- Assist the marketing department in executing events throughout the semester, examples include but are not limited to: setting up a “photo booth” with props, scavenger hunts, etc.

- Perform such other duties as may be assigned to enhance the development of marketing and the best interests of EHS and its affiliates

- Act as a positive representative/role model for EHS.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

- Living in one of the EHS residences for the fall 2017 (St. George Towers, New Yorker, and 1760 Third Avenue).

- Love sharing experiences in different social media platforms.

- Have social media profiles that include but are not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, and Pinterest and have familiarity with these platforms. Snapchat and Pinterest accounts are ideal but not required.

- Ability to interact in a friendly, enthusiastic, energetic and outgoing manner with staff and residents.

- Knows what makes a good post on social media (good eye for pictures and videos)

- Ability to work some weekends and nights.

- Access to a computer and mobile phone with internet/email access.

- Experience in event marketing and brand promotion (not required but helpful).

- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.

 

COMPENSATION 

This is a part-time position, hours vary but will not be more than 20 hours per week. Brand Ambassadors will be paid a rate of $11 per hour and will receive a monthly MTA MetroCard (valued at $122) during their course of employment. Also, BAs will have access to ticketed events hosted by Student Life.
