How it Works

Tips & Advice

In order to use the machines, you must first purchase a $5.00 card that is yours to keep throughout your stay. To use the machines you will need to add money to this card, each wash and dry costs $2.00 each for a 48 minute cycle. Please note that you need a $5 bill to purchase a card and to add value to it you can use $5, $10 and $20 bills.

The laundry room is equipped with a state of the art alert system that will let you know by e-mail or text message when your load is ready. Please remember to get your machine number. Once your laundry is done please pick up your load as soon as possible. To get an e-mail confirmation for your load and/or view available machines you can click in the above picture.

Please be mindful of your laundry. If you choose to leave it behind, make sure you know how long it takes to do a wash/dry. If you leave your laundry too long in a machine, someone may choose to move it for you.

All laundry rooms are monitored by cameras. The Landlord or Licensor is not responsible for items damaged, stolen or removed. Do not leave machines and laundry unattended. The staff will discard any items left unattended. Therefore as a courtesy to others, do not leave your laundry alone for any unspecific time.

If you would like to report a problem with a machine, the area and/or your laundry card, you can stop by the Student Life Office during operational hours or email us at studentlife@studenthousing.org.

Using Your Laundry Card is as easy as 1-2-3!

Insert your Laundry Card into the card slot with the chip facing upward and forward. Insert all the way. Leave the card in the reader.*
Select your desired cycle. The reader will automatically deduct the price of the cycle and display your new balance.
Remove the card only when prompted.

* If your balance is less than the cost of a wash or dry, locate the closest add-value machine. The machine will provide instructions.

4. Provide Guarantor Information

A guarantor is a person over the age of 21, usually a parent, who agrees to be responsible if you are ever unable to fulfill the financial obligations of your housing agreement. If you can't get a parent to be a guarantor, the next best bet would be a relative or friend.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

To ensure the integrity of your reservation, all cancellation requests MUST be received by EHS through DocuSign or sent via certified or registered mail (to 55 Clark Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201, Attention: Director of Leasing). Your request MUST be processed by DocuSign by 11:59 pm New York City Time, or postmarked on or before the cancellation deadlines set forth above. Cancellation requests processed or postmarked after the deadline or sent via a different method will result in NO REFUND of monies paid.

If there is a guarantor (required for 9 and 12 month reservations), the guarantor will be responsible to guarantee payment pursuant to the License Agreement and the Guaranty.

The client also understands that the Membership Fee is NONREFUNDABLE and NONTRANSFERABLE.

All refunds for payments made within the last 180 days via credit/debit card shall be issued back onto the card used for payment. Refunds for all other payments will be issued via check and mailed to the student / intern. Please allow 8-10 weeks for processing.
