When It Is Time To Leave
We hope that you have had a great time in NYC and a great experience with EHS. We want to ensure that you follow the appropriate check-out procedures to avoid any charges accrued to your account. We will send you instructions via email.
Please schedule a Move-Out Appointment by Friday, August 1st. Your move-out appointment will take place on the day of your departure and should be when you are packed and ready to leave the residence. If you are able, suitemates should try and schedule appointments at the same time, so the last one in unit doesn’t become responsible for anything left behind.
To help expedite your move-out and avoid charges, we ask that you do the following beforehand:

Remove personal belongings from your room/suite. Check behind drawers to ensure no clothes or items are left behind.

Dispose of all garbage/debris in your room and common areas.

Remove and dispose of all food from your refrigerator and cabinets.

Return all furniture to its original set up.

Close and secure windows.

Please note, if the room is not returned in broom swept condition, you may incur improper check-out fees.

An EHS staff member will check your room for any damages and collect your ID at your move-out appointment.
Trash
The entire residence will be moving out around the same time, please start cleaning out your apartment ahead of time and removing trash. The hallways fill up very quickly, so we ask that you begin this process several days before. Do not put any large items down the chute.
There are large trash bags and a few cleaning supplies available in the Student Life Office for use.
Mail & Packages

Notify companies and the Post Office of your address change. After you depart, EHS will not be able accept or forward any mail or packages in your name. All mail/packages will immediately be returned to sender after you have departed.

Please change your address in all of your personal accounts such as Amazon, Target, Walmart, etc.
