Isabella Landino
Resident AdvisorIsabella Landino
Resident AdvisorIsabella (Bella) Landino is from Howell, New Jersey, and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Forensic Psychology at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Before moving to New York for school, Bella studied Psychology and Spanish at Drew University in Madison, NJ, where she became heavily involved in student leadership and research. During her time at Drew, Bella’s research focused on juror emotions and sentencing decisions, as well as how language and accents influence perceptions by law enforcement. Currently, Bella is a coder in the Jury Decision-Making Lab at John Jay and a research assistant for the Forensic Assessment Lab. Her current research, which will become a Master’s thesis, evaluates risk assessment using archival data from the Kirby Forensic Psychiatric Center on Randall’s Island. Outside of school, Bella loves to be creative through coloring, painting, listening to music, and writing poetry (mostly in Spanish). Bella loves to bake and cook as well, and is always trying out new recipes. She also enjoys a quiet night in, watching movies, eating good food, and spending time with her friends and family. In the city, Bella loves exploring new places and cannot wait for what it has to offer this year!

Jalen Rangel
Resident AdvisorJalen Rangel
Resident AdvisorJalen is a third-year student and Criminal Justice major at John Jay College. She is from Southern California and moved all the way out here to study law in “the big city.” She aspires to be a lawyer and eventually a judge in criminal law. Her passion for crime and the law stemmed from her father, a deputy sheriff for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Being around law her entire life, she has heard all about the unfair and corrupt criminal justice system, and is inspired to help make it right. Since coming to New York, she has had two court house tours, met with three judges, sat in on multiple criminal trials/hearings and even took a college-credit course (organized by Pace University) inside the Westchester County Jail alongside inmates who were taking the course as well. All of these experiences have furthered her desire to bring people justice, and have pushed her to work harder towards her future.
